With his collection of 32 Campbell’s Soup Cans paintings, Andy Warhol transcended mass production into artistic reproduction creating what became an iconic symbol of the 1960s pop art movement. 

Yet, he only created a total of four "Big Torn" Soup Cans which unlike their predecessors, are strikingly distinct from one another.

The artist who once claimed to be a "deeply superficial person", through evocative movement and action, infused these torn soup cans with expressionist motifs. Whether his prints are deeply autobiographical or a celebration of emptiness, yet remains left to the eye of the beholder.
